CHOOSE THE FLIGHT TRAINING SCHOOL THAT’S RIGHT FOR YOU

Not all flight schools are all the same. We don’t fly the same helicopters, we aren’t the same size, and we don’t offer the same quality. It’s important to find a school that aligns with your values and goals.

FINANCE YOUR TRAINING

We’re always upfront about costs and provide flexible pay-as-you-go options. Outside funding is also available for students who qualify through the following:

VA FUNDING: Precision is approved by the Veterans Administration. This allows veterans to use their VA benefits to pay for flight school. Find out more

STUDENT LOANS: Through our partnership with Klamath Community College, we offer an Associates Degree in Aviation Science. This provides students access to federal student loans, Sallie Mae, and bank student loan programs.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT TRAINING PROGRAM FOR YOU

PRIVATE PILOT LICENSE (PPL)

Your PPL lets you fly helicopters for fun and recreation — giving rides to friends and family or flying for your own transport. It’s the first step toward building the skills needed for your Commercial Pilot Certificate.

COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENSE (CPL)

If you want to get paid to fly, you need your Commercial Pilot Certificate. This course expands on private pilot training and introduces more advanced maneuvers and skills. This training course teaches you to fly to higher and more precise standards and prepares you for your first commercial job.

INSTRUMENT RATING

Obtaining your instrument rating in addition to your PPL or CPL places you a cut above the competition. This course qualifies you to fly in a variety of weather conditions, enhances your flight knowledge and skills, and makes you a safer, more well-rounded pilot.

Build your flight hours
WORK AS A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR TO ACQUIRE ADDITIONAL HOURS

Once their initial training is complete, most commercial pilots are focused on getting their first job and increasing their number of flight hours. One of the most common paths to get to 1000+ hours is to work as a flight instructor. Many pilots choose this path because they want an opportunity to pass on the skills and knowledge they gained during their training to new students and to improve their own skills as they build flight hours and advance in their careers.

CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (CFI) RATING

With a CFI rating, you will be certified to instruct other pilots.

CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR – INSTRUMENT (CFII) RATING

A CFII rating allows you to teach new instrument pilots the critical skills required to fly using only the instrument panel.

Get turbine experience and advanced training
TRAINING NEVER STOPS.

TURBINE TRANSITION

Turbine helicopters are the real workhorses of the industry. Their power-to-weight ratio provides the ideal conditions for helicopter fight; they’re light, reliable, and powerful. That’s why employers look for pilots with experience and knowledge of these machines. Precision can provide you with both the theoretical knowledge and practical experience you need to make the transition from piston to turbine, using a Bell 206 and AS350 for training.

EXTERNAL LOAD/LONG LINE (Basic and Advanced Courses)

Currently, there is significant demand in the utility helicopter industry for proficient and safe external-load / long-line pilots. Precision offers two courses designed to introduce you to this profile: the Basic Course and the Advanced Course. Both courses cover FAR Part 133 and the certification process, rotorcraft external load combination flight manuals, attaching mechanisms and devices, preflight, and use. We’ll start you on a 50’ long line, teaching you basic line control, pick up, set down, and traffic pattern skills.

This lesson introduces you to the challenges of vertical reference flight and begins building the skills necessary to provide vertical reference services in the commercial aviation world. We’ll then move on to a 50’ line with a grappling hook on the end that fits into a steel loop on a barrel, which will teach you precise hook placement and build on the skills you gained in the previous lesson.

You’ll then progress to a 100’ line, requiring greater finesse and mastery of the skills you learned with the 50’ line. Finally, we’ll introduce flying with a load and load rigging to develop the skills you’ll need in the real world.

You’ll find plenty of flight schools across the country that offer one of the benefits described above. Precision delivers all three, giving you the combined impact of solid training, career opportunities, and continued skill development that will help you excel in your career as a helicopter pilot.
